We actually measure Lt on a continual basis. To correct for Lsky we used a combination ! of measured Lsky and Lsky derived from Hydrolight (Mobley et al 1993, Mobley 1999) ! We believe that there was significant wake contamination in our readings due to a ! miscommunication between us and satlantic as to what the viewing angle of the sensor ! really was. We have corrected for this by assuming that the wake contamination was ! pure white. By inverting the SeaWiFS OC2 algorithm using our shipboard Chl.a measurements ! we came up with an expected 490/555 ratio and calculated a radiance value. We then found a ! value, which when subtracted from our measured 490 and 555 resulted in that ratio. That value ! was then subtracted from all measured wavelengths. Any results which were negative were ! rejected, as were any where the percentage of contamination was greater than 100% ! /missing=-99 /delimiter=space
