Description
The PACE Validation Science Team - Northeast Continental Shelf (PVST-NCS) works in collaboration with the NOAA Northeast Fisheries Science Center Ecosystem Monitoring (EcoMon) program for the Northeast U.S. continental shelf. These routine NOAA surveys are utilized to transect the entire U.S. Northeast Continental Shelf Ecosystem and capture a large volume of validation data across the U.S. Northeast Continental Shelf. Full characterization of AOPs and IOPs via continuous above-water radiometry, profiled radiometry, continuous flow-through IOP observations, and discrete subsamples. Continuous phytoplankton measurements across a broad size range with a flow cytometer and Imaging Flow CytoBot (IFCB), are supplemented with discrete HPLC pigment samples to characterize the phytoplankton community.
